Our commitment

Mercy Gate holds human dignity as the primary fact about every person. Access to information and to the ability to give is part of that. We design this site mobile-first, for thumb-reach before desktop, and we treat accessibility as a requirement of the work rather than an accommodation added later.

Standard

This site is built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Conformance is verified before launch and re-checked with each release.

What we have done

  • Every interactive element - navigation, forms, buttons, the donation flow - is operable by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a skip-to-content link on every page.
  • Text and interface colors meet AA contrast ratios; we use no color-only cues to convey meaning.
  • Every image has a text alternative; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
  • Forms use visible labels, grouped fieldsets, and plain-language error messages that describe what to do next. Spam protection does not rely on visual puzzles.
  • Pages have a logical heading structure and landmark regions, and the site works at 200% zoom and in portrait or landscape orientation.
  • Motion is minimal; no auto-playing media, carousels, or countdowns.
  • Arabic vocabulary appears with transliteration and translation in context.

Known limitations

Payment fields are rendered by our payment processor, [processor], inside the donation flow; we choose processors whose fields meet WCAG AA, but we do not control their code. If you encounter a barrier there, contact us and we will complete your gift with you by another means.
